Reggie Gilliam

At the top of the list has to be fullback Reggie Gilliam who had a chance to show off his rushing abilities with both Antonio Williams and Christian Wade out due to injury. He would finish the game with eight rushing attempts, 24 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns.

Gilliam was a surprise addition to the 53-man roster last year and at the time was listed as a tight end. However, he made the team due in large part to his play on special teams and played 42% of the team’s special team snaps.

This season, the Bills moved Gilliam back to fullback, which is what he played in college. While Gilliam had a good chance to make the 53-man roster this year, again due to his play on special teams, the position switch could help him even more.

The fullback is a position that is going away in the NFL and not every team has one on their roster. In 2018 and 2019, the Bills had Patrick DiMarco but released him prior to the start of the 2020 season. The potential return of the position this year could help the team in blocking and give them more options, especially in the run game.

After Reggie Gilliam showed how he can contribute on the offensive side of the ball against the Chicago Bears, he certainly helped his chances of making the 53-man roster.
