Mitchell Trubisky can run this Buffalo Bills offense

While this was Mitchell Trubisky’s second preseason game with the Buffalo Bills, it was really the first opportunity he got to show he can run this offense. In the first game against the Detroit Lions, he only had two pass attempts but on Saturday the playcalling looked more like the offense fans came to expect last season.

Trubisky would finish the day completing 20 of 28 pass attempts for 221 passing yards and found Jake Kumerow for a touchdown. He had a chance for a second touchdown on a screen pass to Matt Breida, but the running back stepped out right before the goal line.

For any Bills fans that were worried about Mitchell Trubisky running this offense, that should go away after this performance. The offense moved the ball up and down almost at will in the first half with Trubisky looking confident and decisive with his passes.

If Mitchell Trubisky is forced to play a few games if Josh Allen misses time, the offense is certainly going to look different and it’s unrealistic to think Trubisky can match Allen’s production. However, he showed he is more than capable of managing this group and could keep the offense on track.
