Brandon Powell

The decision on Brandon Powell could ultimately come down to the severity of Marquez Stevenson’s injury. The rookie got an x-ray during the game and while the results were negative, it remains to be seen if he will be available for the final preseason game.

If Stevenson is able to play, Brandon Powell could be another cut the Bills make to get the roster down to the league-mandated 81 players.

The team signed Powell as a free agent due in large part to his experience as a returner as the Bills tried to find the replacement for Andre Roberts. That battle has essentially come down to two players as Isaiah McKenzie looks to be the favorite but Marquez Stevenson got back into the discussion with his 79-yard punt return for a touchdown against the Bears.

Powell has been a little more active than Gentry with seven receptions for 37 yards on 10 targets but it isn’t enough to move him up the depth chart.
