The Buffalo Bills cruise to a 41-15 win over the Chicago Bears thanks to Mitchell Trubisky

The second preseason game for the Buffalo Bills was named the “Mitchell Trubisky Revenge Game” as the former second overall pick from 2017 returned to face the franchise who drafted him.

While it was only preseason, Trubisky got just a little bit of revenge after an impressive first half against the Bears where he completed 20 of 28 passes for 220 passing yards with one touchdown. He started the game for the Bills and led the offense on six scoring drives, four that ended in touchdowns and two that ended in field goals, with only one drive ending on a punt.

The Buffalo Bills entered the locker room at halftime with a 34-6 lead. In the second half, the offense didn’t have the same success as they were unable to add any more to the scoreboard with Jake Fromm and Davis Webb under center.

The only score for the Bills in the second half was a 79-yard punt return for a touchdown by rookie Marquez Stevenson.

However, the Chicago Bears struggled as well on offense and were only able to muster two touchdowns and two field goals.

Buffalo Bills defense continues to get pressure on quarterbacks

After getting four sacks in their first preseason game against the Detroit Lions, the Bills defense continues to get pressure on the opposing quarterbacks. They had four sacks again this week against the Bears with the two defensive end rookies, Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham, each recording one. The other two players to register sacks were Darryl Johnson and Brandin Bryant.

This was the second straight game that Rousseau has been able to come away with a sack which is a great sign for a player who was considered to be more of a project. However, those expectations could be shifting with the way he has played these two games.

The Buffalo Bills will finish up the preseason with their first, and only, game at home when they face the Green Bay Packers.
