Despite not playing many key starters, the Buffalo Bills had a lot of players step up in their 16-15 win over the Detroit Lions to kick off the preseason. Thankfully no one had their knee caps bitten off and the Bills were able to stay relatively healthy while also giving their coaches and fanbase an early look at this year’s team.

This article will highlight one player from each position group who shined during the game and will make my Team of the Week for Week 1 of the preseason against the Detroit Lions.

Quarterback: Davis Webb

The Bills played three quarterbacks on Friday night, but only one of them was able to execute a touchdown drive. That distinction goes to Davis Webb who had an impressive showing using both his arms and his legs.

The four-year veteran and former third-round pick is battling Jake Fromm for the third quarterback spot and might have the upper hand considering he entered the game before Fromm. He backed up the selection on the field by completing 11 of 16 passes for 90 yards and throwing a touchdown pass to Devin Singletary. Webb also extended plays with his feet picking up 2 first downs and 26 yards on 2 carries.
