Tre’Davious White

Tre’Davious White has been one of the NFL’s best lockdown cornerbacks since being drafted by the Buffalo Bills, but he has plenty of competition at the top of the mountain. Players like Jalen Ramsey, Xavien Howard, Stephon Gilmore, Marlon Humphrey, Jaire Alexander, and James Bradberry are all worthy of being in the conversation for best corner.

White has never allowed opposing quarterbacks to complete more than 56.9% of their passes, and has never allowed a passer rating higher than 79.9 in any of his three seasons in the NFL.

White was a first-team All-Pro, and arguably the league’s best corner in 2019, and made the Pro Bowl in 2019 and 2020. He has the accolades to be considered one of the best, if not the best corner in the league.

White is definitively better than Humphrey and Bradberry, and arguments can be made for him being better than Howard, Gilmore, and Alexander. The only corner in the NFL who is explicitly better than White right now is Jalen Ramsey, but that doesn’t mean that White can’t take back his spot as the league’s best corner in 2021.

White had a sort of down year in 2020, but if he is a Top 5 cornerback in the NFL on a down year, it is certainly possible that he will once again be the league’s best corner in a bounce-back season.
