Devin Singletary

The Bills ran the ball swimmingly at times against the Detroit Lions. And Devin Singletary looked like a different back on Friday night than what he has shown in the past. His quickness, power, and pass-catching abilities were all on full display. He finished the night with eight carries for 42 yards, and a receiving touchdown.

However, Singletary played the bulk of the first half – not something typically seen from a starting running back in the early parts of the preseason. In fact, the last time an offensive weapon for Buffalo was used as often in the preseason, he was traded. He being former Bills wide receiver and first-round pick, Sammy Watkins.

It will be interesting to see how much the Bills use Singletary moving forward this preseason. He is a third-year vet and the Bills will need depth at running back throughout the long season. It may be wise to keep him on the shelf for the remainder of the exhibition games, as running backs are more susceptible to injury in live action.
