Devin Singletary runs well, establishes himself ahead of Matt Breida on depth chart

Both Devin Singletary and Matt Breida saw a number of touches during the first half, and it was Singletary who had the better outing. The third-year back was routinely making defenders miss, rushing for 42 yards on eight carries. He also added one reception for six yards that allowed him to waltz into the endzone.

The night wasn’t nearly as great for Breida, who only totaled 27 yards on 10 carries. He did add two receptions for 15 yards, however.

Detroit’s run defense was able to get some solid pressure, which made things harder for Breida who’s a one-cut back that relies on his speed to produce big plays. The shiftier Singletary found more success using his vision and patience to create openings.
