Jake Fromm behind Davis Webb

There wasn’t much intrigue at the top of the depth chart at the quarterback position for the Buffalo Bills. Josh Allen is the starter and Mitchell Trubisky is the backup but after these two there were some questions, one of which was answered with the depth chart.

Jake Fromm is still very much an unknown even though the Bills drafted him in the fifth round of the 2020 NFL Draft. The reason he is an unknown is that fans haven’t had a chance to see him take an NFL snap, either regular season or preseason, due to the NFL cancelling preseason games last year.

There was questions about where he stood within this depth chart also due to the fact that he was used as the emergency QB last year and spent most of the season practicing away from the team. This meant that there was likely a training camp battle between Davis Webb and Fromm and right now Webb appears to be winning.

In the end, this position battle might not mean much if the Bills only keep two quarterbacks on the 53-man roster. However, if the Buffalo Bills keep three quarterbacks, Jake Fromm needs to have a good preseason to earn that spot.
