Buffalo Bills: Predicting the 2021 All-AFC East Defense and Special Teams
Special teams
K Jason Sanders, Miami Dolphins
Since entering the NFL in 2018, Jason Sanders has been automatic, especially when it comes to extra points, as he’s converted 100-of-102 kicks. In 2020, his 36 fields goals made were second-most in the league and a large reason why he was named a first-team All-Pro. Just 25-years old, there should be many more elite kicking seasons to come from Sanders.
P Jake Bailey, New England Patriots
Another first-team All-Pro from the 2020 campaign, Jake Bailey built on a strong rookie season by averaging 48.7-yards-per-punt, the fourth-furthest distance of any punter in the league. Just one of two punters to be selected in the 2019 draft, Bailey is a good bet to make more All-Pro teams in his future.
PR Gunner Olszewski, New England Patriots
In his second season of handling punt-returning duties for New England, Gunner Olszewski led the NFL with 17.3 yards-per-return, finishing with an average of nearly six more yards than second on the list, Hunter Renfrow of the Los Vegas Raiders.
He, like Bailey and Sanders, was also listed as a first-team All-Pro in 2020. Strong special teams have always been a staple of Bill Belichick squads, and it appears the decorated head coach has identified another gem.
