Special teams

Miami Dolphins: 1

New England Patriots: 2

Buffalo Bills: 3

New York Jets: 4

Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders was named to the NFL’s first-team All-Pro squad after he successfully kicked 36 of 39 field-goal attempts while hitting on all 36 of his extra points. Punt returner Jakeem Grant was named a second-team All-Pro in 2020, and he’ll hold the same role this season.

The Patriots also had several players named to NFL All-Pro teams. Punter Jake Bailey averaged 48.7-yards-per-punt and was a first-team All-Pro. Punt returner Gunner Olszewski was a first-team All-Pro, and Matthew Slater was a second-team All-Pro special teamer.

Buffalo’s only All-Pro member on special teams is no longer with the squad, as Andre Roberts is now with the Houston Texans. Punter Corey Bojorquez, who owned an average punt distance of 50.8 yards in 2020, the fourth-furthest of all-time, has departed for the Los Angeles Rams. The team did bring in former Dolphins punter Matt Haack, who averaged a respectable 44.7-yards-per-punt in his last campaign. Kicker Tyler Bass is returning after a solid rookie season, however.

The Jets recently released kicker Sam Ficken and added Matt Ammendola, which means Ammendola will compete with Chris Naggar for the job. Braden Mann will return to punt after doing a fine job in his rookie season, and Braxton Berrios remains a valuable punt returner for New York.
