Tight End

New England Patriots: 1

Miami Dolphins: 2

Buffalo Bills: 3

New York Jets: 4

As mentioned earlier, New England spent a lot of money this offseason, and a good portion of it was dedicated to the tight end position. The team signed the top two available players at the position in Jonnu Smith and Hunter Henry, giving them the best duo of TEs in the entire league.

Miami improved its tight end situation in the offseason as well, selecting Hunter Long from Boston College in the third round of the draft to pair with Mike Geskicki, who’s coming off a solid season that saw him corral 53 receptions for 703 yards and six touchdowns.

Outside of bringing in Josh Allen’s college teammate Jacob Hollister, Buffalo didn’t do too much to upgrade TE, which makes this a major prove-it campaign for Dawson Knox, who hasn’t topped 4,000 receiving yards in either of his first two seasons.

Chris Herndon IV will return as the starter for New York, and he actually finished the season decently strong in 2020, but he still failed to surpass 300 receiving yards. Former Bills TE Tyler Kroft was brought in, but he doesn’t figure to be a major difference-maker.
