AFC East Offensive Grades: Buffalo Bills offense still class of division
Wide Receiver
Buffalo Bills: 1
Miami Dolphins: 2
New York Jets: 3
New England Patriots: 4
With Stefon Diggs, the NFL’s reigning receiving yard leader, Buffalo’s earned the right to occupy the top spot on this list. In addition to Diggs, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis are also re-joining the unit. Beasley posted 967 receiving yards last year on 82 receptions, while the big-bodied Davis corralled 35 receptions, 599 yards, and seven touchdowns in a promising rookie campaign. John Brown left, but Emmanuel Sanders was brought in and he’s topped 700 receiving yards in each of his past three seasons.
Miami went all-out to improve its wideout situation this offseason, inking Will Fuller in free agency while spending the sixth-overall pick in the draft on Tagovailoa’s college teammate, Jaylen Waddle. DeVante Parker is returning, giving the group a formidable trio of receivers.
The Jets, like the Dolphins, used free agency and the draft to address the team’s receiving situation. New York recruited former Tennesee Titan Corey Davis while also using the second pick in Round 2 on Ole Miss standout Elijah Moore. Slot receiver Jamison Crowder is returning and the team will hope it can get 2020 second-round pick, Denzel Mims, healthy, as he was limited to just nine games in his rookie campaign.
Despite their efforts to overhaul the group in the offseason, the Patriots rank last. Nelson Agholor and Jakobi Meyers will open the season as the squad’s starters, and while these are OK receivers, there’s really not much else to like about this group.
