Stefon Diggs

The next player that the Buffalo Bills should hold out of the preseason this year is wide receiver Stefon Diggs. The absence of preseason games last year raised the question of how Allen and Diggs would be able to play together in their first season together and how quickly they could get on the same page.

That question was answered very early that season and Diggs had a career year and led the league in receptions and receiving yards. Now entering Year 2, there isn’t any reason to risk injury for Diggs, especially if they keep Josh Allen out of the preseason.

The addition of Stefon Diggs really helped to transform this offense because the Bills now had a true number one wide receiver that forced defenses to gameplan for him. This meant that in addition to giving Josh Allen a go-to wide receiver, it also helped open the field for other wide receivers like Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis and they were able to take advantage of winnable matchups.

There is no reason to have Stefon Diggs on the field until Week 1 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
