Josh Allen
The first player that the Buffalo Bills should keep out of the entire preseason is quarterback Josh Allen. The franchise quarterback is coming off a career year where he threw for over 4,500 passing yards, 37 passing touchdowns, and added another eight touchdowns on the ground.
There isn’t much to be gained from playing Josh Allen in the preseason because of his familiarity with the gameplan and the players around him. He is entering the fourth season with Brian Daboll as his offensive coordinator and showed last year how well he can play in this system.
In addition, he has at least one season of experience with a majority of his wide receivers and running backs with Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, Gabriel Davis, Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, and Dawson Knox all back this year. The biggest change is the addition of Emmanuel Sanders but he is a veteran and these two likely can get on the same page during training camp leading up to the season.
The Buffalo Bills quarterback is arguably the most important player on the team and the one player they absolutely need to reach the Super Bowl. It is not worth risking opening Josh Allen to potential injury during preseason games with little to gain.
