WR Brandon Powell

Previously with the Atlanta Falcons (2020)

Brandon Powell was signed this past offseason to a one-year, $920,000 contract to presumably serve as a special teams player. He was a punt and kick returner with the Atlanta Falcons last year, and with Andre Roberts gone, he’ll likely compete for those duties with the Bills.

While Brandon Powell is a long shot to make the roster, he has the potential to make some highlight plays that should excite Bills Mafia. One of the reasons fans have been wanting to see Christian Wade is because of the big plays he made during the 2019 preseason.

Powell has that same potential and showed it in 2019 when he averaged over 16 yards per catch and in the first two preseason games had at least one reception in each that went for more than 20 yards.

In 2018, as a member of the Detroit Lions, Powell made big plays that included an 80-yard punt return for a touchdown. In that same game, he had six receptions and helped the Lions come back to beat the Bucs.
