Buffalo Bills: 53-man roster projection entering training camp
By Aaron Tully
Cornerback (6):
Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Taron Johnson, Dane Jackson, Siran Neal, Rachad Wildgoose
The Buffalo Bills are as young and inexperienced as they have ever been at the cornerback position. Does that mean that they are thin at the position? Not really, but they are not exactly the deepest either.
Tre’Davious White, Levi Wallace, Taron Johnson, and Dane Jackson are all locks for the 53 man roster.
Siran Neal is close to a lock due to his versatility. Neal is able to play corner, slot corner, and safety. Considering how much Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane value versatility, Neal is a safe bet to make the roster. His contributions on special teams certainly help his chances.
The final cornerback spot comes down to Rachad Wildgoose, Cam Lewis, Nick McCloud, and Olaijah Griffin. It really is a toss up between Wildgoose and Lewis, but given that the Bills used a draft pick on Wildgoose in 2021, they may want to keep their minor investment around.
You could also throw Damar Hamlin in the mix here as a safety, but due to Siran Neal’s versatility, the Bills may want to hold that spot for a corner.
Any of the three corners who do not make the 53 man roster are quality practice squad candidates.
