Can Forrest Lamp earn a starting spot with the Buffalo Bills?

In 2017, Forrest Lamp was considered one of the best value selections in the NFL Draft that year when the Chargers drafted the offensive lineman in the second round. He was considered one of the better interior offensive linemen prospects in that draft class.

However, the first three years didn’t go as planned as Lamp dealt with a number of injuries. He suffered an ACL injury that forced him to miss his entire rookie season. The next two seasons he would miss time due to injury and played in a total of nine games during that stretch.

This past season was a different story and the Buffalo Bills are hoping Lamp can build off that promising season.

Expectations for the 2021 season with the Buffalo Bills

After this past season, the expectations for Forrest Lamp should be that he will come into training camp competing for a starting job at either guard position. It will likely be on the left side of the offensive line that the competition takes place and Lamp will be looking to surpass players like Cody Ford and Ike Boettger.

Even if Forrest Lamp doesn’t win the starting job, he should have a good chance to make the Buffalo Bills 53-man roster. He is a player with high upside who has starting experience and could be the primary backup to whoever wins the starting job on the left side and Jon Feliciano at right guard.
