The Buffalo Bills have had one of the best secondaries in football since Sean McDermott took over as head coach in 2017. Many see Tre’Davious White as the lone star in the unit, considering that he was an All-Pro in 2019 and is a two-time Pro Bowler.

While White has undoubtedly been one of the NFL’s best corners since 2017, the Bills’ safety tandem deserves a lot of credit for the unit’s success as well.

Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer were both brought in as players who were underrated and underused by their previous teams, and they really started to shine once they got to Buffalo.

Hyde and Poyer have been one of the best safety tandems in the NFL since 2017, and are a prime example of Sean McDermott being able to execute on low-cost, low-risk free agent signings.

This year’s safety depth chart is no different, and even though everyone knows who the starters are, it is worth taking a look at who would fill their shoes if something bad were to happen.
