CB1: Tre’Davious White

Tre’Davious White has been one of the best cornerbacks in football since he was drafted 27th overall by the Buffalo Bills in the 2017 NFL Draft. White was the first draft pick of the Sean McDermott era, and the Bills hit a grand slam with their selection.

White was a first-team All-Pro in 2019, and a Pro Bowler in both 2019 and 2020. He has not allowed higher than a 56.9 completion percentage and a 79.9 passer rating in any of his four years in the NFL.

White is undisputedly the best cornerback for the Bills and a Top 5 cornerback in the league, and he will be the Bills’ top cornerback for years to come.

CB2: Levi Wallace

Levi Wallace has been the starting cornerback across from Tre’Davious White since he took over the role in Week 10 of the 2018 season. Despite calls from portions of the Bills fan base over the years calling for an upgrade, Wallace has started all 35 games that he has played in during his three year career.

During those three years, Wallace has allowed less than 58 percent of the passes thrown his way to be completed and has defended 20 passes. Wallace will have fierce competition from Dane Jackson for the role of the second cornerback, but Wallace will likely start training camp as the starter.

Slot CB: Taron Johnson

Taron Johnson has been the number one slot cornerback for the Buffalo Bills since he was drafted in the fourth round (121st overall). Johnson took over the role from Leonard Johnson and was an instant upgrade.

In 39 career games, Johnson has defended 15 passes, three forced fumbles, two interceptions, and eight tackles for loss. Johnson had two pick-sixes in 2020; the first came against the Steelers in Week 14 to swing momentum in Buffalo’s favor before halftime.

The second was arguably the most clutch play in franchise history; the 101-yard pick-six against the Ravens in the third quarter of Buffalo’s divisional round win. Johnson has a knack for making timely plays for the Bills, and he will again be a useful tool in the slot in 2021.
