Can Greg Rousseau prove he is ready to contribute as a rookie?

This is a general question that likely would apply to all the rookies from the Buffalo Bills draft class but for Greg Rousseau this is the top question.

The reason is that Rousseau has all the physical traits that NFL teams would want from a defensive end at a towering 6’7″ and 265 pounds. He had an incredible season at the University of Miami in 2019 with 15.5 sacks and 19.5 tackles for a loss.

However, due to an injury in 2018 and opting out this past season, he only has that one season of tape and there has to be a question if that is a precursor of things to come or just a one-time occurrence? There is also the question of how might the opt-out impact him and will he have more rust to knock off than some other players.

The sky is the limit for Rousseau with his physical tools but he is a player the team may need to be patient with. That changes though with a strong training camp and could quickly move up the depth chart.
