Buffalo Bills Franchise Record: Passing Touchdowns
Jim Kelly’s Record: 237 passing touchdowns
Josh Allen Current Total: 67 passing touchdowns
This is another category that Jim Kelly is the clear leader as he has over 50 more touchdowns than Joe Ferguson, who has 181 passing touchdowns. When looking at Kelly’s career it is rather remarkable that he had only one season with over 30 passing touchdowns.
That season came in 1991 when he threw 33 passing touchdowns, which was good enough to lead the NFL in that category. When looking at that category last season, the NFL had nine players throw for 33 or more passing yards. Josh Allen was one of those players as he threw for 37 passing touchdowns.
This is the one record that Allen could catch Jim Kelly the quickest as he already has 67 passing touchdowns in his career. If he were to average 35 passing touchdowns, the Bills’ current quarterback would surpass Jim Kelly in 4.8 seasons.
While Jim Kelly is confident that Josh Allen will break his records, he will still be able to hold onto most of them for at least a few more seasons.
