The Buffalo Bills have built one of the deepest rosters in the entire NFL. There are no glaring holes on the roster like in years past.
Having that type of depth is a very enviable position to be in as both a coach and a player. For coaches, having a deep roster makes it easy to just plug in a solid backup and keep the machine running if a starter goes down. For players, it should bring out the best in a player who wants to keep or improve their position on the roster.
Some positions on the Bills roster are deep enough where solid players may have to look over their shoulder to make sure they stay ahead of those beneath them on the depth chart. That is certainly not a bad thing for a team’s roster to have.
Some players are coming off of down seasons in which their production dropped, while others are entering 2021 with a wave of momentum that they created for themselves in the 2020 season.
Training camp and the preseason are all about proving that you belong; whether it be on the roster, in a starting position, or that you have a lot left to give to a team. There are plenty of players with something to prove on the Bills in 2021, but here are the players who have the most to prove, and it may cost them if they do not.
