The greatest Buffalo Bills player to wear #31:

Jairus Byrd was the Buffalo Bills second-round draft pick in 2009. The son of Gill Byrd,(a two-time Pro Bowl corner) Jairus continued in his father’s footsteps of playing at football’s highest level. Byrd wasted no time letting the world know he had arrived, snatching nine interceptions his rookie year. This effort was good enough for a Pro Bowl selection, the first of three he’d earn while in Buffalo.

That would be the most Byrd would have in a season for his career- talk about setting the bar high. Byrd would add on an additional 13 interceptions and tally 356 total tackles (260 of them were solo) in his five years with the team.

Byrd’s career would take him to New Orleans for three years after Buffalo didn’t want to pony up as big of a contract that the Saints were going to give him. Byrd’s final season came in Carolina before ultimately being out of the league by 2017.
