The greatest Buffalo Bills player to wear #43:

To follow up the all-time leader for interceptions for the Bills is the guy who is second on that list. Tony Greene sits in second place on the INT’s list with 37. Greene joined the team in 1971, which just happened to be Byrd’s final season. Whatever knowledge Greene absorbed from Byrd must have really helped him in his NFL career.

Greene of course tallied those 37 picks mentioned earlier, but Greene set the team record for longest pick-six at 101 yards. That mark stood with Greene as the only one to accomplish that feat until Taron Johson picked off Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens in the 2020 AFC Divisional playoffs.

Greene was moved to Free Safety later in his career and he really performed well. He had 34 of his 37 interceptions from the FS spot, including two years with 9 picks each.

Greene would have the bar set at 105 yards, when he picked off Bob Griese of the Miami Dolphins in a playoff game, only to have it negated by a holding penalty. Later in that article, Green thanked the Bills fans for always being there and for them always being great to the players.
