Buffalo Bills 2021 Player Profile: Wide Receiver Emmanuel Sanders
How will Emmanuel Sanders contribute in his first season with the Buffalo Bills?
The Buffalo Bills wide receiver position was one of their strengths last year but this didn’t stop general manager Brandon Beane from trying to improve this group. The Bills released John Brown in a cap-saving move and elected to replace him with Emmanuel Sanders, who signed a one-year deal with the team.
The question now is how much impact he can have this season and what his role might be in the Buffalo Bills offense?

2020 Stats
Last year, Emmanuel Sanders played for the New Orleans Saints and finished the year with 61 receptions, 726 receiving yards, and five touchdowns in 14 games. These were some of his lowest totals recently and he also finished with one of his lowest career yards per reception average of only 11.9 yards.
However, this down season could be attributed to Drew Brees missing a significant part of the season and when he was on the field wasn’t always completely healthy.
Expectations for the 2021 season with the Buffalo Bills
Emmanuel Sanders is expected to be a big contributor and a part of the Top 4 wide receivers with Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Gabriel Davis. All four of these players are expected to be key contributors to one of the top passing offenses in the NFL.
The question is how Brian Daboll might utilize Emmanuel Sanders to really maximize what he can bring to this offense. The Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator provided a potential hint last month when he said the wide receiver is flexible in terms of where he can line up and that includes outside as well as inside.
This could be an indication that the Bills plan to run more four-wide receiver sets this season with Beasley and Sanders on the inside while Davis and Diggs are lined up outside.
