Assistant to the Head Coach: Matt Worswick

Matt Worswick joined the Bills in 2017 alongside Head Coach Sean McDermott as McDermott’s direct assistant. Worswick helps McDermott with gameday management as well as assisting the defense and special teams staff. Worswick, just like many other Bills players and coaches, came from Carolina where he spent three years as an intern and assistant. Worswick has made it worth known by being around McDermott every year in Buffalo.

McDermott came to Buffalo a first-time NFL Head Coach and with that came inexperience managing the game. Worswick has been right by McDermott’s side as he has gone from an inexperienced gameday coach to one of the best decision-makers in the NFL when it comes to game management and tough situations.

While it is hard to gauge Worswick’s pure value in Buffalo is some coaches begin to move on in the coming years to advance their careers do not be surprised if Worswick starts to rise up the ranks in Buffalo.

Coaching Assistant: Leonard Johnson

Leonard Johnson may be a familiar name for Bills fans. The former cornerback joined Buffalo as a coach at the beginning of the 2020 season after playing with Buffalo in 2017. Johnson played seven years in the NFL totaling 83 games, 28 starts, 5 interceptions, 252 tackles, and 2 touchdowns. Johnson works as a general assistant specializing in defense.

It is no surprise that McDermott would bring a player like Johnson on as a coach. Look what Johnson had to say about McDermott in 2017 when he signed with the Bills coming from the Panthers just like McDermott.
