The Best Buffalo Bills player to wear #30: Wray Carlton

. player. 16. . Running Back/ Fullback. Duke. Wray Carlton. 30

To finish off this set, Mr. Wray Carlton is going to teleport us back to 1960. Originally drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the 1959 NFL Draft, Carlton found his way to Buffalo in 1960. From there he helped make a great tandem with “Cookie” Gilchrist, and also would be a part of both of the Buffalo Bills’ AFL Championship squads in 1965 and 1966.

Carlton is a member of the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame, after playing basketball, football, and baseball in high school. Carlton’s final stats were 3,368 yards and 29 rushing touchdowns.

Our runner-up here is Wayne Patrick, a running back out of Louisville that put up a modest 1,084 yards and 5 touchdowns. Other than that, it’s Carlton’s number to own. The rest of this list is filled with players who had such a short stint with the team that there was no chance of toppling Carlton from his throne.
