4th – New England Patriots

Total Yards Allowed 2020 Rank: 15th

Points Allowed 2020 Rank: 6th

The next team is one the Buffalo Bills will actually face twice as it is division rival New England Patriots. The Patriots have been a team that has seemingly had a tough defense every season and took a step backwards this past year to only 15th in total yards allowed but remained in the Top 10 in terms of points allowed.

The reason they are on this list is that they made a number of moves this offseason that should help them return to being a Top 10 defense. They signed free agents like Matt Judon, Kyle Van Noy, and Jalen Mills while also drafting defensive tackle Christian Barmore, who should have a significant role as a rookie

In addition they also have Dont’a Hightower returning, who opted out of last season due to the pandemic. The additions, along with the return of Hightower, is going to make this group one of the tougher defenses in the league.
