Number 1 – Tyler Bass

Without question, the player who will have the most impact this season from the 2020 NFL Draft class will be kicker Tyler Bass. The team drafted Bass in the sixth round and he came and earned the starting job over veteran Stephen Haushka during training camp.

This certainly was not an easy feat when considering there were no preseason games and the coaching staff had to have a great deal of trust in the rookie that he could step up in pressure situations. For most of the season, he did just that including essentially winning a game by himself in Week 7 when Bass made six field goals, which was the only points scored by the Bills as they won 18-10 over the New York Jets.

However, Bass’ impact goes beyond just making field goals. He has a very strong leg that extends what is field goal range for the team as he made four of six field goal attempts over 50 yards.

It also has an impact on the opposing team as Bass finished the year with a touchback rate of just over 70%, which Hauskha’s touchback rate was just over 51% in his three years with the team. When taking all this into account, Tyler Bass is the player who is likely to have the most impact on the Buffalo Bills from the 2020 NFL Draft class.
