Bryce Callahan

On the defensive side of the ball, the slot cornerback position is equally important for the Buffalo Bills. They are a team that likes to rely on nickel defense regularly so a player like Taron Johnson is essentially a starter even though the Bills base defense is considered a 4-3 defense.

Taron Johnson is entering the final year of his rookie contract and if the Bills don’t re-sign him, they could be looking for his replacement. Fortunately for them, one of the best slot corners in the NFL, Bryce Callahan is set to be a free agent next offseason.

Callahan played four seasons with the Chicago Bears and this past year joined the Denver Broncos. For his career, Callahan has 165 total tackles and six interceptions, and recently Pro Football Focus ranked him as the second-best slot corner in the NFL.

Similar to Crowder, the Buffalo Bills will need to see Callahan can stay healthy as he missed the entire 2019 season due to injury and this past year missed six games. If Callahan plays a full 17-game season, he could be in line for a big contract and one the Buffalo Bills should consider offering.
