The attention at defensive end has been centered around the Buffalo Bills first two draft picks, Gregory Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr., but free agent signing Efe Obada has the potential to be a key part of this rotation this year.

Obada, who previously had played for the Carolina Panthers, has improved each season in the league. This past season he played only 35% of the Panthers’ defensive snaps but had 5.5 sacks and 15 QB hits, which would have led the Bills in both categories.

Brandon Thorn tweeted two highlights from last year for Obada, and this is one of the reasons I believe he will make the 53-man roster, is his versatility to rush on the edge but also from the interior.

The Buffalo Bills have Obada, along with Carlos Basham Jr., as two defensive ends that could slide inside on passing downs. This may limit the number of defensive tackles the team keeps but also give them an extra roster spot to keep six defensive ends with Obada being that final one.
