Best Buffalo Bills player to wear #20: Donte Whitner, Safety

Welcome to the show, defense. Donte Whitner leads the pack and is the first defensive player to make any of the lists so far. A first-round draft pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2006, Whitner would spend five years with the team before heading off to San Francisco and being a part of their Super Bowl XLVII appearance. Whitner’s stats were 453 combined tackles, 5 interceptions for 180 yards, and 1 interception returned for a touchdown.

Other players to wear this number include Frank Gore, current running back Zack Moss, and 2008-blast-from-the-past Tashard Choice. If you click the link you’ll see that this is easily the number with the most players who have worn it.

Makes one wonder if there is something that keeps players away from the lower numbers? The new rule change may have had something to do with it, but it is something to do further research on.
