Star Lotulelei

One of the players that many were hoping would be at OTAs was defensive tackle Star Lotulelei. The team’s starting defensive tackle missed all of last season after opting out due to the pandemic.

During the first week, Sean McDermott was asked about Lotulelei and gave a very abrupt (and uncharacteristic) answer by saying “Unfortunately, Star is not here.” He has yet to report but has been working out based on some videos on Twitter.

The reason that it will be important to see Lotulelei is that he is expected to be a big part of this defense. Last year, the team struggled to replace their starting one-tech tackle and the way he impacted the opposing team’s run game.
