Buffalo Bills: 4 defensive tackles to target at this point in the offseason
The Buffalo Bills on Tuesday were able to free up a sizable amount of salary cap by restructuring Stefon Diggs deal. The additional $7.8 million will give general manager Brandon Beane some extra cash now to add to this roster and improve the team ahead of what is expected to be a successful season.
While the thought is that this additional space could be used for someone like Zach Ertz or even another cornerback, there is another position that is sometimes overlooked as a need. That is at defensive tackle, and specifically, a tackle that can help the run defense.
The Bills are expected to have Star Lotulelei back this year, and fans should be hopeful after seeing a workout video on Twitter, he shouldn’t be the only answer. The coaching staff likes to rotate their defensive line frequently so adding another veteran tackle at a minimum to rotate with Lotulelei but possibly start over Lotulelei if he isn’t able to return to his level of play would make sense.
These are four defensive tackles that are available, either in free agency or via a trade that the Buffalo Bills should consider adding.
