Dion Dawkins

The theme of this article is certainly about Josh Allen but he can’t do it alone and he needs the support of the players around him. While Stefon Diggs is important, Josh Allen won’t be able to get the ball to him if he doesn’t have time in the pocket.

This is why a player like left tackle Dion Dawkins is so important and one of the players the Buffalo Bills can’t afford to regress this coming season.

Dawkins was a second round pick in 2017 and has continued to improve year over year as the team’s starting left tackle. The Bills recognized the player that Dawkins is and he was given a long-term extension last offseason.

That didn’t slow Dawkins down and he put together another good year this past season. He finished the year giving up only six sacks (tied for 7th best among tackles) according to Pro Football Focus.

The left tackle position is one of the most important as it is protecting the quarterback’s blindside. The Buffalo Bills had one of the better players at the position last year and Dion Dawkins will need to replicate that performance again this year.
