Buffalo Bills: 5 players who are set to breakout in 2021
Zack Moss
The Buffalo Bills run game is going to be a point of focus this season as they try to improve off last year. While the offense likely doesn’t necessarily need a great run game with how elite the passing attack was, it is important for the coaching staff to ensure that if the need were to arise they could turn to the run game to help keep the offense moving.
This is where Zack Moss comes in and he should surpass Devin Singletary on the depth chart and be the team’s primary running back. The former third round pick brings more to the position than Singletary due in large part to the fact that he can be that power, grind-it-out back when the offense needs those tough yards.
Last year, the Bills started to lean more on Moss down the stretch and there was a three-week period where Moss averaged close to 13 carries per game. Entering this season, that should be the weekly average for Moss all season and would amount to 221 carries. If he keeps his average of 4.26 yards per carry, he would be in line for his first 1,000 rushing yard season.
