Tremaine Edmunds

Tremaine Edmunds has eclipsed 115 total tackles every season in the league and made the Pro Bowl the past two seasons. However, what fans have seen to this point is only scratching the surface of what he can do and this season he could take that next step towards one of the best defensive players in the league.

Edmunds will be entering his fourth season in Sean McDermott’s defense and at this point should know this scheme very well. He has been the player that is expected to relay the play call from the sidelines and get everyone in line pre-snap.

This level of familiarity should help him be more instinctive and not have to think as much when making a play.

Another reason that I believe he is poised for a breakout season is some of the players around him. There is no question that he plays better when Matt Milano is on the field and with him returning to Buffalo this offseason, and hopefully staying healthy this season, can set Edmunds up to make more plays.

The other player returning who could help Edmunds is Star Lotulelei. The big one-tech defensive tackle is an anchor in the middle of the defense and usually commands multiple blockers. This stops the offensive linemen from getting to the second level which in turn gives Tremaine Edmunds more room to operate getting to the ball carrier.

This should be a big season for Edmunds and one where he secures his place as one of the top linebackers in the game.
