Buffalo Bills trap game #3: vs New York Jets, Week 18

Divisional games are always tough, no matter how bad the other team might appear to be on film or paper. That’s why the New York Jets qualify for a trap game. This is at the end of the new 17-game regular season, and there is always talk about resting starters when you get this close to the playoffs (if your team can do so). If there’s anything I know about Jets head coach Robert Saleh from my time writing for Raising Zona, it’s that he’s going to treat this like a playoff game himself.

The Bills lead the all-time series against the Jets (121 games), 65-56.

Saleh, as Buffalo Bills fans may know has been one of the biggest factors in the San Francisco 49er’s success in the past few seasons. With him becoming a head coach, his fiery personality to fight through to the bitter end in games will translate to his team. Zach Wilson with weapons at his disposal can make this game very interesting. In fact, I think this is a field goal game. Yes, closer than the 18-10 battle I mentioned earlier in the article. Over the last 10 games between these two, both teams have a 5-5 record.

Buffalo’s seeding coming into this game will determine a lot upon how this game is treated. However, I don’t think the Jets will let the Bills get through to the playoffs so easily without an attempt to make them sweat.
