The Buffalo Bills must avoid losing trap games in a crucial year.

A wise person once said that only good teams have trap games, average ones do not. With the Bills having the 23rd lowest strength of schedule, three games stick out.

What usually happens in trap games is that the offense gets out to a slower start, due to turnovers or just inefficient play calling (aka “getting cute”). It then just snowballs from there, especially if there aren’t any corrections from the team that should be dominating the lesser opponent. Also, a trap game doesn’t always count in a loss. If a team can expose a scheme one week, expect more teams to be a “copycat ” and try to get the same result.

I’ll break down these three teams and how they may just upset the Bills, or at least take it to the very limit. Let’s not forget the Bills played two games against the New York Jets last season that was unnecessarily close, including the week seven matchup where the Bills won 18-10. Despite the 13-3 record, there weren’t as many trap games last year that there is this year.
