Buffalo Bills: 3 reasons Stefon Diggs will repeat as NFL’s leading receiver
No big changes at tight end and running back
The last reason that Stefon Diggs is once again in good position to lead the league in receiving yards is that the Buffalo Bills didn’t make any significant changes on offense to take away targets from their number one wide receiver.
While they did sign free agents like tight end Jacob Hollister and running back Matt Breida, these additions aren’t significant enough to change the Bills gameplan. They also signed wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders, but he likely steps into targets vacated by the team releasing John Brown this past season.
Meanwhile, a team like the Arizona Cardinals, who have DeAndre Hopkins and who finished second to Diggs, went out and added players like A.J. Green, James Conner and used a second round pick on Rondale Moore. He is a player who is unlikely to reach the targets that he received this past season in that offense.
The Buffalo Bills found a winning formula last year with Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs being the primary drivers for what ended up being one of the top passing offenses in the league. There isn’t any reason to think they can’t replicate what they did and with a full season of work, along with the return of Brian Daboll, Diggs is set up to surpass his totals from this past season.
