Linebackers (5)

Tremaine Edmunds, Matt Milano, Tyrell Adams, Tyler Matakevich, Tyrel Dodson

The linebacker position is one that is a little tougher to get a read on as the Buffalo Bills could go in a number of different directions here. They did bring back Matt Milano which is a big boost to this defense and him alongside Tremaine Edmunds allows the team to continue to operate out of the nickel defense frequently.

After those two is where the questions start to show up and it really hinges on A.J. Klein. The veteran linebacker played well for the Bills down the stretch and he knows this defense well. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Klein return this season but a player like Tyrell Adams could be a better fit for the defense that Sean McDermott likes to run.

Adams has more speed and quickness than Klein which allows him to cover more ground and is a better linebacker in coverage. When considering what Adams showed last year with the Houston Texans, he should be the player to win the job as that first backup at the position and step in if either Edmunds or Milano are forced to miss time.
