1. Quarterback

Fortunately for the Buffalo Bills, the best position group on the roster is also the most important. The Bills not only have their franchise quarterback in Josh Allen but have great depth behind him.

While the depth is great, there is no question that Josh Allen moves this to the top of the rankings after the season he had this past year. He broke a number of franchise records, earned a trip to the Pro Bowl, finished second in MVP voting, and helped this team reach the AFC Championship Game.

While the hope is that Allen won’t miss any time if that were to occur the team made sure they had a capable backup. After Matt Barkley served in that role for a few seasons, the Bills went out and signed free agent Mitchell Trubisky. The former second overall pick had an up and down start to his career with the Chicago Bears.

If he were to start, he would step into a great offense and have the chance to show what he is able to do as a quarterback.

After Trubisky, the Bills have Jake Fromm who was a fifth round pick this past season. At this point, he is relatively unknown with no preseason and spending his rookie season as the emergency quarterback and practicing away from the team. The hope would be that he becomes the backup next season in place of Trubisky.

dark. Next. Which Day 3 pick has best chance to start as a rookie for Bills?

Finally, the Bills have Davis Webb, who was a third round pick by the New York Giants but has been on the Bills’ practice squad the past few seasons. He has shown to be valuable to the team in other areas but he is also an unknown in terms of what he is able to do on the field.
