The Buffalo Bills re-signed Matt Milano, which entering the offseason didn’t seem likely considering the cap situation and what Milano was expected to sign, but he is now set to return. This is a big boost to the defense as he will once again be paired with Tremaine Edmunds as the team’s primary starters with how frequently they line up in nickel.

In addition to bringing back Milano, the Bills did a good job of building their depth behind the starters. Right now, veteran A.J. Klein would be most likely to step in as the third linebacker when the Bills move to a 4-3 defense but they also signed Tyrell Adams and Marquel Lee as free agents.

Both Adams and Lee have starting experience, in particular Adams. This past season Adams started 12 games and finished with 125 total tackles, which was the 12th highest total in the league.

After those players, is a group of Tyrel Dodson, Tyler Matakevich, and Andre Smith who are primarily special teams players but key contributors.
