4. Defensive End

The next position is defensive end, a position that the Buffalo Bills invested heavily in during the NFL Draft the past two years. At the top of the depth chart is Jerry Hughes and Mario Addison, two players who are heading towards the end of their careers and while Hughes has been productive, there is some question about what Addison can contribute.

General manager Brandon Beane recently didn’t seem too concerned and believes that he is a key piece of this defense. He did mention that Addison’s snaps were up last year and the team could look to their younger players to contribute more this season.

That starts with A.J. Epenesa, who was the team’s second round pick last year and hopefully takes that next step in his career. The Bills also drafted Gregory Rousseau and Carlos Basham Jr. in the first two rounds of the 2021 NFL Draft and should be worked into the rotation as well.

After these players is a group that consists of Efe Obada, Darryl Johnson, Mike Love and Bryan Cox Jr. who have shown they can contribute at times. While there are some questions about production, there is no question that the depth is great and why they are ranked fourth.
