Asante Samuel Jr.
The last player is one that the Buffalo Bills would likely hope to select in the second but they have also met multiple times with Asante Samuel Jr. from Florida State University. If there is a number of cornerbacks selected early in the first round, or they don’t believe they can select him in the second, it wouldn’t be surprising if he was the pick at 30.
Asante Samuel Jr. is a player who has shown a good job of disrupting passes and had four interceptions and 20 passes defended over the past two seasons with Florida State. He is a player that despite his size, is not afraid to support in run defense and is a good tackler.
The biggest concern with Asante Samuel Jr. is his size as he is only 5’10” and 184 pounds. The question is how he might match up against some of the bigger wide receivers in the NFL. This may not be an issue for the Buffalo Bills as they did draft Tre’Davious White in the first round in 2017 and he is only 5’11”.
He is a player that should be a good fit in this defense and could potentially start as a rookie. However, I believe Asante Samuel Jr. would only be the pick if the Bills aren’t able to find a trade and there are close to five cornerbacks taken before they are on the clock.
