Buffalo Bills 2021 NFL Draft: Ranking the four best fits at tight end
3. Tommy Tremble
The next player on this list is Tommy Tremble out of the University of Notre Dame. He is a player who has primarily been that second tight end in college at Notre Dame after being behind Cole Kmet in 2019 and then Michael Mayer this past season. This has kept his stats fairly modest and he had only 35 receptions, 401 receiving yards, and four receiving touchdowns in 19 games.
However, what Tremble does well is that he is an explosive blocker and does a very good job on the outside and downfield for running backs. This is probably the one thing that the Buffalo Bills will gravitate to when watching Tremble. In terms of being a pass catcher, there is room to grow here but the concern is can he develop into that top tight end.
If the Buffalo Bills were to draft Tremble, which probably would be closer to Day 3, he probably would have a role as a rookie and could be utilized similar to how Lee Smith was but provide a little more of a passing threat.
