Harrison Phillips

The next player on this list is Harrison Phillips, who was a third round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2018. Unlike Devin Singletary, his availability may not be tied to the team drafting another defensive tackle because of who they already have on the roster.

The Bills have Ed Oliver, Vernon Butler, Justin Zimmer under contract along with Star Lotulelei expected to return this season after opting out of last year. The Buffalo Bills have typically kept around nine defensive linemen on the active roster. In the past, they have gone with five defensive tackles but this season it wouldn’t be surprising that they wanted to have a fifth player at defensive end.

If that does happen, this means the Bills are going to be forced to cut one of their defensive tackles. As for Harrison Phillips, he is a player that has shown flashes at times of being a player who could be a quality contributor, potentially as high as a starter, for this defense.

However, he is entering the final year of his rookie contract and if the Buffalo Bills are not ready to commit to an extension or don’t see him fitting on the team this year, then they should see what they might be able to get in return.
