Round 6, 213th Overall: Michael Strachan, WR (Charleston)
Round7, 236th Overall: Joshua Kaindoh, EDGE (Florida State)
The final two picks in the 2021 NFL Draft are also focused more on development and these players likely would see little playing time as a rookie but could contribute in the coming years.
In the sixth round, the Buffalo Bills select Michael Strachan out of Charleston, who they have already met with virtually this offseason. He is a big wide receiver at 6’5″ and 228 pounds and had 78 receptions, 1,319 receiving yards, 19 touchdowns, and an impressive 16.91 yards per reception, according to the school’s site.
In the seventh round, the Buffalo Bills select pass rusher Joshua Kaindoh out of Florida State University. He is another player that has all the physical tools at 6’7″ and 247 pounds and was productive his first two years at FSU with seven sacks and 11 tackles for a loss.
However, the concern here is his injury history and towards the end of the 2018 season, his second at FSU, he suffered a shoulder injury. He returned in 2019 but that season also was cut short after only five games due to an ankle injury. As they note in his scouting report on The Draft Network, Kaindoh has never played more than 400 snaps in a season.
At this point of the NFL Draft, it is worth the gamble because of what Kaindoh could become if he is able to stay healthy.
