Round 2, 61st Overall: Ifeatu Melifonwu, CB (Syracuse)
Now at their original second-round pick, the Buffalo Bills address the cornerback position in this mock draft. The cornerback position has been a sticking point for this team since Sean McDermott took over and haven’t invested a high draft pick at the position since selecting Tre’Davious White in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft.
They now are looking for a player to pair with White that can give give them one of the better starting cornerback duos in the league. A player like Ifeatu Melifonwu out of the University of Syracuse could be that player and would be an excellent fit for this defense.
He has the size at 6’2″ and 212 pounds to line up against the bigger wide receivers in the NFL and The Draft Network believes his best fit is as a zone corner. This is something the Bills use a lot in their defense under McDermott and this could give him a great chance to come in and win the starting job as a rookie.
